.45 Luger
 

Dear All - I haven't yet worked out who best to addrees my queries to, but then again, I may never do it. Apologies then, for generalising. I was just running through a pile of Guns and Ammo magazines [they're not banned here - yet] and I found the article from '98 about the Krausewerke .45 Luger. Whatever happened to this beautiful piece of history remake? Were there really no takers in the land of 10 million millionnaires? $10000 doesn't seem to far out of line to me when you are talking about a hand-made piece of kit like that. Like the man said, there ain't no cupboards in a coffin. Again, I seem to remember yet another guy who made his .45 out of a standard frame by cutting it in half, like slicing bread, and inserting a bit in the middle to make it wider - what hapened to that little effort?


Thought I'd throw those into the ring to show that I'm actually awake and reading absolutely everything on the site over here in UK.

The Krause Lugers are still available, but the price was $12,500 the last time I heard. They are a handbuilt pistol, but are still just a copy of a very rare pistol.

Terry, the other 45 Lugers made by piecing two together were made by John Martz and I have held one, it was $6000, there were also some single shot WYATT Lugers made, I last I remember they were at least $2000. Don't know where the $1000 45 Lugers are? ~Thor~

See the front of the latest of Bob Simpson's catalogues...he is handling the sale of an ORIGINAL 45 cal from an anonymous collection..(I am pretty certain I know the source but don't ask)

There is a Wyatt for sale on the internet site.


I didn't see the other .45 that they have, as it must be only in their paper catalog.


Still, any .45 Luger is pretty cool.

$1000.00 .45 Luger
 

I know some people on the forum do not like the stainless steel Lugers but the last time that I talked to the president of AIMCO he said that he is working on producing a .45cal. It should be out in year 2002 or 2003. He said that he will have a prototype at the SHOT show (whenever that is). The price range estimate that he gave was $900 to $1200. It will be interesting to see one when they do become available!

I will buy one if they do it! Assuming the initial reports are comparable to the standard model! Hugh any inklings (rumors you h;ave heard) from AIMCO at the Houston Gun shows? If you have mentioned this before, sorry, I am getting old YANNO! ~Thor~

They used to have a table at several of the Houston gunshows, I have not seen them at one lately.

It is a hard copy paper catalogue that comes out 8-9 times a year. You get it by subscribing for about $10 or so or free buy buying a hell of a lot of stuff from Bob Simpson, who, for what its worth, is unquestionably the easiest of the BIG dealers to work with. Bob is a true gentleman and is 100% honest. I vouch for him 100%.
