A Newbie here..

Hello to all and a big thxs for the great info I've gotten from this board. Well after 50 years of buying and trading guns, mostly for hunting, I have myself a Luger. With what I have read so far, it's a "Shooter".

An old friend of mind had it for years and wanted to trade it for a small gun for his wife. His brother had won it on a tip-board back in the 50's at a VFW club. I got a little over $300 in it.

It is a 7.65 "Chrome" luger. I have found no numbers that come close to matching. I look forward to shooting a few rounds through it.

I orderd a"Luger Tip" book from e-bay, so I will know a little more when I get my next Luger....

I'm going to try and add a pic of my shinny new looking luger.

Welcome to the Lugerforum! I see your Luger has no stock lug at the rear of the grip... and that the buffing that took place prior to the chrome or nickle job was not overdone. A decent pair of grips would improve its appearance tremendously... Just out of curiosity, what is the toggle mark for the manufacturer? and what is the serial number on the frame above the trigger guard?

Hey John thxs for the reply. DWM on the toggle and the sn 80307. Do all the guns have the same grips?

No, some grips are wood, others are bakelite, and of course many aftermarket grips are plastic. A good aftermarket set of grips would make it much more attractive to behold.

Here is an example from ebay... you would probably get these for the opening bid, they are offered all the time... so don't be impatient and BUY IT NOW.

RS, I agree with John, that a nice set of repro Black Widow grips would look good on a nickeled PO8. I have these or new course checkered wood grips available @$25/set + $6 priority S&H. I also have the more original looking, finer checkered wood grips available @$50. ALL NEW WOOD GRIPS will be slightly longer than necessary and require some minor fitting. TH

Hey thxs guys for the info. I'm headed out of town for a few days, deep sea fishing, so when I get back I will try and check with you Doc.
