Two Grips Questions

I've tried the Murphy's Oil Soap on some old grips. Works GREAT. Now what's recommended to put on them? I don't much care for linseed oil, what did the factory use? Tung oil, maybe?

Who makes the best replacement grips. The grips on my Interarms Mauser shooter are a very sharp trapezoidal shape. Very uncomfortable to the hand. Something like the DWM grips would be welcome.

Thanks,

FN

Ya ever notice that Lugers and Dobermans are both black and tan? I don't believe in coincidence....

FN, Hugh (from the forum) is the guy to ask. I think he uses gun oil, but I'm not sure.

Hope Hugh responds!

Also, Hugh does a fantastic job of reshaping and recheckering the grips on Interarm Mausers to make them feel and handle much more like an original Luger. He reshaped and recheckered the grips on both my Interarms Mausers and I am extremely pleased and impressed with his work. Hugh is a true master craftsman!!!

FNorm,
I use a light application of Tung oil applied with a toothbrush after recheckering grips.

FN, Short of modifing your original grips, I have available new repro black plastic M29 Swiss grips @$35 + $6 S&H, that are thinner & smoother that the original Parabellum grips, so perfered by most shooters. TH

Thanks All. I'm still learning here. I decided to see what another set of grips would feel like on this thing. He he. Ya can't swap regular grips with a grip safety model. The innerds are different. This Interarms is a copy of a 1906 Navy. Hugh is getting them to work his magic.
