Regular attendee graciously allowed my to take the following photos. Has anyone seen a "GS" stamped tool before?
|
Yep. They exist but are quite rare. Very, very nice and rare complete rig!
|
Thanks Vlim. I wish it was my rig!
|
Same here. It falls into the 'who do I have to kill to get it' category :)

Thank goodness I don't have to wait for someone to die (but on the other hand, maybe I'm the guy you are waiting for:))

Yes, mine looks pretty nude without all the goodies. But with the prices these accessories are fetching nowadays I'm afraid it will stay undressed for quite a while to come :)
This one has a GS-marked sear bar. Pretty rare as well. |
Gerben,
That is a nice gun. |
Ron,
Could you comment on why your leather accessory pouch has snaps and the first one shown does not? Earlier? Later? Different manufacturer? |
Mine is arsenal made (marked CW - Constructie Winkel - construction facility). The first one also does not have the brass loop and tab flap closure. I would guess that it may be a field made item or someone's effort to make a pouch but lacked the necessary hardware.

What GS stand for please?

Geweermakersschool (Gunsmith's School), the semi-official name of the arsenal at Java, on the East-Indies, where guns and accessories were maintained, repaired and also where new gunsmiths were trained.
