Police Magazine Questions

Let me start by saying thank you in advance and by telling you what I have.

I've got an 39/S42 police, non-matching mags. What is correct for this gun? Obviously the aluminum base, but should it have the letter suffix with the serial number? Mine runs in the N block which is correct, and I know as well that a police issue should be marked 1,2, or 3 as well. Is it or is it not for this time period supposed to have the suffix on the clip?

Second part, this gun came with a police mag, nickle tube, aluminum base, Number 2 at the top, dove at the bottom and starburst K on the spine. It does not have the name of Haenel Schmeisser anywhere on the mag. Is this a legit police mag?

Regards, Steve.

I can answer the 2nd question much easier. The mag that came with the gun is an earlier one. I'd like to see it to see if the base has been replaced? Can you provide pictures?

You mag shows evidence (poor repinning job) of a bottom change. I don't believe that the eagle proofed bottom should be in a folded */K tube, but rather in an extruded nickeled tube with an */H on the spine. TH
