Military Shoulder Holster
Gentlemen,
Is there truely such a thing as a Luger shoulder Holster issued to the military? Wayne |
Hi Wayne, somebody sent me this link recently of a shoulder holster for Panzer crews.....not sure about the history.

Marking
the marking looks not nice stamped.
|
IMA has gone down significantly in quality in the last years. They are knocking off virtually everything, except with Pakistani or Indian quality, which is not good. I've sent several things back in the last year...
|
I agree the quality looks poor....I like Pacific Canvas for re-makes of classic holsters at a reasonable price but they don't have on like the Panzer model.
I thought I'd post the link more to shot that apparently there was a german "tanker" type holster for the Lugers. |

Here is one that was shown to me a few years ago.
I believe it was the result of a discussion over the use of some brand of pushbuttons on pre-WW2 leatherwork in Germany and the Netherlands. (please ignore the obvious replacement grips on the pistol) |
I have a holster that looks essentially like the one in the pictures from IMA, however, mine appears to be period made.
so, unsure if mine is a "rare" example of not :) Ed |
Wayne, To the best of my knowledge, there was never an offical military contract for any model shoulder holsters. I've owned many over the years, that were made by local shops for individual soldiers (some maker marked, most not, and never WaAed (have seen some phoneys) or dated. Also AKAH & other firms, DID contract to have some made for the PP, PPK, etc. and sold these commerically. TH
