In Manchuria, this type of gun was called "Japanese Box". Originally, I thought that's very weird name, "Where is the box? The leather holster.... you mean?"

Obviously, the wood box was not a rare item in the past -- people saw lots of them and coined the nick name. But somehow it's super rare now.

Nambu guns.
I can remember when these guns where about $75.00 at the gun shows here in CA,with the holster! I guess I am dating:rolleyes: myself.

Although not many Nambu pistols were made (roughly 1/10 of Parabellums ?), every C&R shop carries a few. Most Nambu pistols are in the U.S :)

Grandpa is rare. Papa and Baby are uncommon. What common are Type 14 and Type 94. I would assume $75 for Type 14 rig in 1970s?

This rig is rare enough. Even in refurbished form, it went $18,400.

Nambu..... for recording purpose. Copied from JJA.
