P39(t) ???
Do we have any members on this forum who collect the CZ 39(t) ... I know that holsters are sometimes mistaken for P.38s, other then that, they are not at all alike... just wondered if any members really liked them? best to all, til...lat'r....GT;)

I have been looking to add a nice CZ 39 rig to my collection for some time, however the combination of price and 98% condition I have yet to find one. I tend to collect what I find in my travels. It seems when one goes looking for something the price goes up to the moon! I have seen both type of (39T) holsters. They earlier ones have the extra piece of leather sewn into the magazine pouch while later production were made with smaller magazine pouches. Regards, George |

Gt, Correct me if I'm wrong, but other than the lack of "P.38" marking on the back and the modified mag pouch, the basic hardshell appears to be the same as the P38. Th

P39(t)
Hi Thomas, I've never ever had the gun... but the holsters are a pretty neat study in their own right... And, I've not had many of them.. but here's what I do know... the early ones had a spacer in the mag pouch, and the latter one didn't??? AAAnnnnddd.... I've seen several later ones, with a p.38's in them , and spare mags stuffed into the mag pouch.... ??...Sooo, do you think, they were made to accomadate both types of spare mags in 41??? Regardless of the final issue destination?... I'm thinking there might be more to these holsters then meets the eye...:jumper: til....lat'r....GT

GT, Most likely, once in the field the German GIs thought they were for the P38 and removed the spacer in the mag pouch (or stretched it out) so that a P38 mag would fit. I doubt that the doouble action .380 CZ38s saw much use outside of the troops in Czechoslavokia. TH
