Considering A "Shooter" Luger...What Do You Think Of This One?

I'm considering a "shooter" Luger that is currently listed on gunbroker. The pistol is described as follows:

P08 Luger, Erfurt production, marked 'Danzig 1916' (lousy pics-tried to show detail of logo), with 6" barrel. I traded for this item about 8-9 years ago and have put maybe 150-180 lead cast rounds down range since obtaining it. This weapon has clearly been re-blued (looks better than the pics)and re-barreled to 6" length. I can vouch for the fact that the numbers on the lower and upper receivers appear to match, but that the barrel does not appear to be original. All #'s on parts appear to be '32' except the barrel which is '5'. The bore still looks to be in excellent, shiny rifled condition, and the weapon functions fine. The magazine does not appear to be matched either (marked 'made in Denmark' in english), plus I have one more aftermarket mag to include. All in all, this is a fine example of a 6" Luger shooter, though I can't and won't try to vouch for the collectability of the item.

Like I said, I am only considering this as a shooter, I don't intend to spend more than $700 but before I venture any further I was hoping to get a little input /advice from the forum. The URL is:

All opinion are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I am always leary of a no inspection return policy.

I can never understand how peeps can put blurry/fuzzy out of focus pics up for an auction.

Makes me wonder what they are hiding.

But for $650 + $40 shipping I would consider it in the shooter price range if it is what he says it is.

6 inch barrel, it will go for more than that....

I have sold 3 or 4 6 inchers and got almost a $1000 each time.

If it works, I would think $700 being good. Many of those do not work properly, and extra dollars have to be poured in just to make it functional. Barrel length is not supposed to be counted in this particular equation. 6" has 6" taste, 4" has 4" flavor.

Ok, the pictures are very bad, so I am just pointing out what looks strange to me. It is sold as is however, with bad pictures.

Look at the first toggle link area, you will notice a shadow to the right rear of the pin, it is very dark on the left side but also you see it on the right. Just a shadow?

Look at the top of the link above the pin and compare it to other Erfurt's, doesn't look right to me.

Just details from a fussy picture

He did add a 3 day inspection period.

I had noticed this one also...He says he'll "send" better pics...Why not just post them with the auction??? And only four pics??? Those closeups look like he made them with his cell phone...There are auctions on GB with 12 - 15 *good* pics attached to them...and they get lots of attention...

Magazine..."Made in Denmark" in English...???...

Definitely caveat emptor! But maybe a good deal..."Do you feel lucky???"... :D

I am lost. What to inspect on this one.... Would he allow range test firing, "if it cannot fire 50 rounds 'Winchester white box' smoothly, return it back to me refund less shipping". I did not see it.
