Luger Mag Question
Picked up a 36 dated holster at a show yesterday but to my suprise it still had a mag in it so I quickly snapped it up for £45!
Its a Stainless Steel body with an alloy bottom with the marking as follows: 3470 1 Above the numbers theres a symbol which looks like a star above a D on its side, kind of like a lighthouse? Sorry for my description but I've looked around the net and can't find any other examples of this symbol so I thought i'd ask the experts  Cheers Danny |
Danny, Sounds like a police mag, but without a photo it's hard to say if you have a nickel plated extruded Schmeisser mag or the more common plated folded Mauser one. TH

Here's some more of the markings:

That appears to be a police marked mag, number 1.

hey Joe, I haven't seen a starburst like this tho? Have you bud?

Danny, Thanks for the nice photos. I agree with Ed T. that the Sunburst/D Weimar Police marking (i've never seen one this large either) is probably spurious. The renumbered Weimar era alum bottom, appears to have been reinstalled in a later Mauser nickel plated (correct would be tin plated)body.TH

Thanks for the replies :D
So what do you think is the story behind this mag? Weimar era mag that was refurbished late/post war? Finally was it worth £45 :roflmao: Danny |
