A new Luger!!!!!!

Went to local gunshop; owner knows I like Lugers.

"come over, I have a NEW luger for you."

It was a 12g auto shootgun! YES, its marked LUGER!

Made in turkey, stoeger ind..

I thought they only used the name on pistols?

Do I have to buy scatter-guns now, too???

Maybe a set?

"Luger" Shotguns

These cheap shotguns are marketed in Germany under the brand name "Luger" as well.

A large distributor (Kettner) offers these.

Thought these were made in Hungary.

This has nothing at all to do with our beloved babies, just a brand name for whatever reason.

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

They even have Luger Watches on ebay ocassionaly! I must confess I like the original Parabellum Pistol WAY better than any other object with the same name! I did however really like the AIRSOFT Luger I got from WOMBAT, really cool!!! ~Thor~

Re: "Luger" Shotguns

Since Stoeger purchased the name and invertory from the US Govt (who seized the assets of Hans Tauscher, a German spy decorated by the Kaiser) after WW1, they can use the "LUGER" name (which was not registered in the US by DWM) on whatever products they choose. Tom h

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

Big Norm, no sir I did not outbid you! I got my airsoft Luger directly from Wombat, he didn't put it on an auction! It was part of a trade I did with him on this rework.

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

That is funny, I have seen a couple ot items on e-bay and recognized forum names or e-mails and thought, huh, how bad do I want this.

To drive the price up... I guess I'm a nice guy?

but if I want it bad enough I'll bid...

heh, heh

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

Yah! I often have considered bidding on some stuff that H Clark had an active bid on. But I backed off. I would want it pretty bad to cut him off. I am happy to say that I have not wanted something that bad yet. So far, to my knowledge, I have not bid on anything with anybodies name that I recognized. But I quess that sooner or later that will happen since we are all Lugerheads and looking at the same stuff. But its fair bidding so nobody should hold a grudge. I HOPE. Thor, I was just joking about you outbidding me.

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

I think I would be inclined to email a forum buddy to see how serious he was about before bidding, maybe he is only mildly interested and knowing a fellow forum buddy was REALLY interested he might back off... or am I being naive ???

Hugh and I have done that! And Tom Armstrong and I have also, not a bad idea! ~Thor~

I'll keep that in mind, I know in other ways, that sometimes I have needed something bad and maybe you did too and trading favors or trading items is a good way to go.

I'll make sure I keep your ideas in mind!

Re: A new Luger!!!!!!

Good idea Dok. But we have a lot of guys on this forum who are in and out. Its hard to keep track of all of them. Maybe if you know that the guy is a forum member and he is the current high bidder then an email would be good. But it would be tough to do on a regular basis because so many guys change their names when they go to the auction sites.I could think of a couple other examples. But maybe its best to just leave the auctions as open territory and remember to not to get mad or hold a grudge. I tried calling a guy on this forum who I personally knew and it did not seem to work out. I think that maybe each of us thought that the other was intruding on the others bidding philosophy. Different bidding stategies for different folks.
