pin hardness??
 

Does anyone know how hard the toggle train pins are?? (rockwell C scale) And the other pins, are they hardened? or just mild carbon steel... Lot'sa pins in a Luger.. but the toggle pins would have to be both, hard and tough, I would think... :jumper: Best to all, til....lat'r....GT

Would John's Blueprint CD have that information??? I would think if a machinist had to make it, that would be included...

In German, of course...and maybe not Rockwell "C" scale...

Let's see...page 5 shows the toggle pin...I don't see anything that strikes me as anything but dimensions...

I wouldn't think the pins would be any harder than the parts they connected...if they were harder, the toggles themselves would wear more than the pins...it would make more sense to have all parts made from the same steel and hardened/annealed to the same specs, so that they would all wear equally...

I don't know that I have ever seen the hardness represented, but then my German is not fluent... I know you have a copy of the CD... Heck, you even have a copy of the paper prints.

...Someone who speaks German fluently should carefully examine pages 5 & 6 and see if the pin hardness is specified. Personnaly I think they would have to be hard, but not brittle. :confused:
