I recently purchased an "ORIGINAL" Navy marked tool.
The tool is possibly "original", the mark ain't.

How bout a pic or two of the bogus tool Ron? Just so someone doesn't buy one other than ebay...like at a gun show. they should know what they look like.

Is Kraus the guy from Minnesota?

Photos posted. There was also a tool listed that had cursive M intertwined over A as found on the left receiver on some Reichsmarine Lugers.

Have you given any feed back yet on the ebay seller?

Somewhere I saw a side comparison of a real tool and two 'modern' remakes. But now can't find it. Was it in a book or on a Lugar site?

The real was much thinner

Ron -

Good/useful/important information. Thank you.

If you have not already done so, you may want to post this on gunboards too.

FN,

Original tools measure 2.5mm in thickness , give or take a millimeter.

on the FAQ is a section on it.

Just as a side note, the luger was named after
Georg Luger, although in europe they call it a P08 or Parabellum.
