What do I have?
Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I just bought this odd Luger at a gun show this afternoon and I was curious about it. It's obviously been customized but that's about all I know. Can anyone tell me what I have? Thanks!

Wombatant - The people who can help you most can not view pics posted outside this site (their corporate policy/IT people block those pics)...Post them *here* and you'll get more timely responses... ;)

The first clue is the the type of frame. This is a post 1908 style frame with no grip safety. The next thing is the date on the barrel. This indicates the pistol was a military issue in the first world war. Next, the lack of a small notch at the front of the reciever ahead of the date indicates this military P08 started out with a 4" barrel. The DWM on the toggle indicates it came out of the Deutch Waffen Munitions factory. SOme where in it's life it has been skillfully and extensively customized. It resembles a luger carbine but the customizer decided to add his own touches rather than attempt a fake. I think it is a fine looking and interesting shooter with some connection to the great war. |
Great description Heinz!... I can't add a thing. Enjoy shooting this unusual custom Luger!

David,
I would be interested in more photos. Can you show how the fore stock is held in place ? it looks like someone made a carbine from parts. Thank you Jim |
Wow! I like the woodwork. Something different and special.
