help id my luger
Hello everyone
I'am new to the Fourms, i recently had a luger passed down to me from my grandmother, but she had little to no information on it and unfortunantley my grandfather had already passed away at this time. So i am having a hard time getting any information on it. What i know is that it is a 1916 erfurt, the serial number is 8950 and it seams to match on all parts. apart from the markings on the main part which look like the letter n,r,and p with crowns on it and a eagle. it also has markings on the barrel and trigger guard here are some pics, not the best quality will try to get some better ones. http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...t=IMG00052.jpg http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...t=IMG00054.jpg http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...t=IMG00053.jpg Sorry but the sites photo upload keept giving me a server error so i had to use photobucket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Frank. |
Frank, welcome to the forum. You have a 1916 that has been nickled or chromed (ruining the collector value). Depending on if it got buffed or not, I have bought these for around $450 and sold for $550 at gun shows.
The holster if all correct is worth another $150-$250; see if there is a tool in the pouch? Blank, add $40, if marked, can be $60-$80 Ed |
Thanks a lot ed, i always wondered why it was chrome or nickeld.
Too bad that ruins the collector value nice to know how much it is worth and i do have that tool in the pouch. Not looking to sell it, i think its a beautiful gun. But now that i know the collector value has been ruined i might actually shot it. thanks again Frank |
