I purchased this rifle at Louisville SOS 2009. I know very little about these rifles. This one fascinated me in that every component or part on the rifle has either a serial no. or Waa marking right down to the smallest screw. The German's were/are so very detail oriented.
Please excuse the number of pictures I took......there's alot to photograph on these long thing's. One of the photo's show a little leather flap under the tightner of the carry strap so as not to scratch the stock....... I hope you find it interesting also..........Jesse |
I love these Mausers......I'll be in Rapid City in August, you can drive it down to me and I'll buy you a tank of gas........just a great rifle...

They are really interesting rifles. I have a dou 44 in nice shape, with all the numbers on the outside matching iirc. Kind of afraid to take it apart to check if all the numbers on the inside match. Might lose a part.
One of the online dealers had a 98k (1941 ?) for sale with good photos of all the matching numbered parts, about 28 numbered parts iirc. Not knowing much about these rifles, it was surprising to see all those numbered parts. Nice rifle! Thanks for posting photos. |
