The day has come, dad has passed down the luger. I am trying to find out a little about it. Maybe price?

Donald, welcome to the forum.
Its a mauser made, 1940 42 (the 42 is a code for mauser), its a bit rougher, with slight pitting. Inside numbers must match to call all matching; if all matching probably $800-$900, perhaps several hundred more, it is always hard to tell in pictures. Pre WW2 era magazine, doesn't detract, but doesn't add to the value either. Any paperwork that came with it? Holster? Tools? Those could add several hundred to it. ed weimar_lugers@verizon.net |
The 1940 "42" code is pretty common if I'm correct. Looks like a nice honest piece though, I would be very pleased to have ANY Luger passed down to me :)
