INTERARMS LUGERS OF THE 70's

I have,n Mint cond. a blued 6" Navy with the Swiss frame from Interarms they imported in the 70's. I also had a 4'blued Swiss frame.Just how many variations of Lugers did Interams import during the 70'? I hear there were even Carbines and Cartridge couter models with both Swiss and P-08 frames. They were made in Germany by Mauser. Why are they considered by many to not be "TRUE" Lugers?just because they are post war made? Thanks,Bill

MAUSER LUGERS OF THE 70's

They are real Lugers...Just as the P1 and other Postwar P38's are real P38s.......but, no one seems to care about either one?

I am reminded of what Warren Buxton once told me....years ago, folks with Stoeger lugers would have the Stoeger marks removed so they could have a 'real Luger' !!!!

These guns 'are what they are'...and, like the recent imported P08/P38's......they will become more interesting and valuable as folks realize that!

In regard to Interarms, I read in the John Walter book, "The Luger Story" that there were 250 Cartidge Counters made in 1982. Does anyone know the current value of these?

Thanks,

Bart

I saw a number of these at the time. The "Swiss" frame

doesn't feel much like a Luger to me, and the P-08 style

were about $450.00 in 1979-80, a WWII luger could had for less.

The repuation the Interarms guns had was they had to be loaded VERY hot... I one book that lists a 9 mm Para load with 6 grains of Unique for these, a load I would not fire by remote control.

Best Regards,

Mike; I started loading for the Luger in l974 and tried a lot of the different powder available in those days and settled on 6gr of Unique and still shoot it til this day in all my Lugers. I believe this load is very close to the load that Thor uses to test his Lugers.

There was a "New in Box" Swiss style Interarms on Auction Arms recently --may still be on. Also, I think Simpsons usually has several, including a few NIB.

I believe the issue price was near $4000, and the last one I saw was priced at $2250 with no takers.
