Luger trigger guard search
I have a 1936 S/42 Luger. All parts are coded 3202 or just 02 except the trigger guard which is stamped 67. (Clip does not match either.) I would like to find a 02 trigger guard and buy or trade for my 67. Any suggestions?

Hi Doug, your best bet is Tom Heller, aka Lugerdoc here on the Forum.
Heller Arms LTD. Thomas W. Heller PO Box 398 1420 Heritage Landing #101 St Charles, MO 63302 (636) 447-3006 HellerArms@webtv.net Good Luck!! |
Welcome to the Lugerforum.
Tom Heller is a great source for parts, but finding a frame (trigger guard) with a specific serial number is like the proverbial needle in a haystack... don't get your hopes up. The frame is the registered part of your Luger, and would require a firearms transfer in both directions. It is not simply a "part" that could be exchanged with another owner. All firearms rules for the state of residence for each party would have to be complied with, as well as any federal rules... |
Could he possibly be referring to the side plate?
Doug, when you say "Trigger Guard" are you referring to the sideplate that covers the top portion of the trigger? |
John, I'm pretty sure alan is correct. I took it to be a side plate too. Like something to hold the trigger in the frame.

Saw a nearly 100% 1940 42 code taken from an Officer. It is absolutely unfired, high gloss blue with no wear, all sharp edges where they should be and unnumbered wooden base magazine. No signs of reworking or rebluing, but if it is the guy is a genius. Only weird thing is the sideplate is a mismatch. My guess was minimum 2K.
