Police Luger Stamp Meaning?

Could someone please tell me the exact or the probable meaning of the following stamp on the lower front grip strap of a 1915/1920 police Luger: S.P.O.A. 45

Thank you very much.

Ron, I have been unable to figure out the meaning of this mark.

Don -

Based on information on page 196 of Still's book on Weimar & Early Lugers book, I am wondering if the "S" might stand for Schutzpolizei - "municipal police force"

And the "P" might stand for Potsdam

I do not have a guess as to what the "O" and the "A" might stand for.

But the "45" is surely for weapon number 45

Thank you for trying to help with my question.

Ron,

Having compared this and at least one other similar marking with those of the Schupo of Potsdam, I doubt that the S.P. in this marking represents Schutzpolizei Potsdam. If you read my book History Writ in Steel when it comes out in a month or two, you will understand my reasoning.
