frames variances

Dear Experts

Are there any significant differences in the dimensions or shapes of the frames between the various German luger manufacturers?

Thanks,
Jeff

Differences, yes. Significant ones, not really.

Improved production methods, changed alloys and minor modification like the extension of the frame ears to avoid the toggle axis pin from working it's way out and blocking the action. The biggest difference exists between the Swiss M1929 and the German variations. Also the Mauser Parabellum frame differs from the pre-war versions (as it's also based on the Swiss M1929).

Then, of course, there are the normal production changes. Ron Wood did an excellent article on the frame differences between the 1900 upto 1908 variations.
