Holster ID
 
I am Hans van der Veen, and I came from Holland.

I have an original P-08 holster, en it belongs to my for a several years,

But the knowledge of it is not very mutts.

Its signet by;

Franz Hermann

Erfurt

1911

It was original brown, but later they colored black.

Please ken you tell more about this holster.

Your English is very good, compared to my Dutch, which is none! I can give you a little more information about your holster, but most of it is on the holster. Franz Hermann in Erfurt, Germany made holsters from 1911 to 1917, so yours was made the first year of production.

A dyed 1911 holster would range in value from $40US to $250US depending on condition. Many were dyed in 1916-1918 period. The original brown color would increase value perhaps to a $50-$350US range. If the stitching is sound, there are no tears or holes, the belt loops are original and not replacements, and there is no restitching or other repairs, the value is high. Soft, oily, torn holsters are less valuable. General wear on the holster does not reduce value a great deal unless there is damage, tears and holes.
