Unit markings?
2 Attachment(s)
These markings are on a Art. Luger holster that was converted to a reg Luger size. On it are the markings pictured, does anyone know what they mean?
Thank you. |
Hi Robert,
The X'd out marks look like Schutzpolizei Berlin. The newer are Schutzpolizei D¼sseldorf 3rd Centuria or district. Ron |
this one has been around. John

Hessian,
This one clearly traveled around. I believe these marks were applied in the following order: S.B.4.II.1.22. (top right rear) - This is a 1919-20 marking of the Berlin Sicherheitspolizei. I sort of guessed at the last three characters. S.B.No.II.?.?. (second from top, right rear) - This mark was applied after the Sicherheitspolizei had been converted to the Schutzpolizei, probably about 1922. It represents the Schutzpolizei of Berlin Polizeigruppe Nord, Abteilung II. S.D.III.2.100. (outside of cover) - This is from the Schupo of either D¼sseldorf or Essen in the D¼sseldorf administrative district. The mark was probably applied in the mid-20s. S.D.III.416. (lower right rear) - This is from the same location as above. It was applied following issue of revised marking orders in February 1932. This is one of the most interesting series of markings I have seen. If you can make out the last parts of the the two canceled markings on the rear, I would be very interested in knowing them. |

I will look at the markings later for you and post them if I can read them. I also have a bag of holsters with unit markings... would you like them also? Thank you so much for the information. |
If the holsters have police markings, I will be very interested in them.
