1923 long barrel

More questions...I also have a 1923 long barrel safe and loaded marked germany on the barrel. The only thing I find in the book is that it is rare... Has a 11 3/4 inch barrel...
Has anyone come across one of these that can give me some more info.....
Thanks

What book are you using?

A safe and loaded is not common, but long barrels could be ordered in almost any size / length in the past (1930's, 1950's, etc).

I have seen them for sale off and on, although not usually safe n loadeds.

Chris,

Davis's book is full of misinformation, search for the review I posted on these Forums when it first became available. Frankly, all the literature is pretty light when it comes to commercial Luger variations; the most informative is probably Jan Still's Weimar Lugers. The best and most current information about Commercial Lugers is to be found in the discussions on this Forum and Jan Still's Forum.

The GERMANY stamped barrel suggests that the barrel was imported into the US as a separate item, and assembled onto the pistol after it arrived here. It would be useful to know the full serial number of the gun and any other markings on the barrel, and of course any photographs would be of interest.

Yes only Germany for markings on barrel. crown N above the side plate, safe and loaded.

sorry I am not the best photographer....Gun is in original blue, about 98% no bumps or bruises, original grips and mag (un numbered) marked Germany as well.. Bore is mint...
Will try for some better pics but can't seem to get the lighting right
