Need help identifying this luger

Hi I'm new to this forum,

Some guy is trying to sell me this gun, he says that this type of gun was made as a gift for exceptional service to nazi officials. He claims that there a very few of them made.

Nazi symbols all all over the gun, mainly on the grips (as you can hardly see on the picture), he's asking for $4500, please let me know what do you think.

It all started to sound like a scam when he said that the gun comes with it's original case made out of human skin from concentration camps!

Or maybe I'm looking at an exceptional pice of human history?

You are looking at an exceptional piece of BS. I'm sorry, I usually do not use that kind of language, but given those atrocious claims I am at a loss for proper terminology. The whole tale told by the seller is a pack of lies. The gun is barely worth $450 let alone $4500.

Would you really want something made of human skin......not in my collection.

I beleve you may have found the worst possible way to start owning/collecting luger(s) Calvarius.

Total lack of dignity from the seller serving you a lie like that for the profit of money.
Human skin.. please give him/her a brief historical summary of the last century before you walk away.

Good God!

We've reached new lows in the gun sellings biz!

Go tell the seller to put this "Luger" and the nazi symbols where the sun wont shine, (Sorry the laguage but this is a real fraud)

Then go and spend your $4500 on a real collective Luger. You can even have a really nice one for less than $4500, and you will enjoy it a lot more than this one.
There are lot of members here more than willing to help you out finding the right one and giving a good advise, but please dont even think about this one..............Well... maybe for $450.....maybe

Thanks to everybody you've just saved me a ton of money. Can somebody explain what we're looking at?

I can see only one picture; you are looking at a luger that was nickled or chromed post war (NONE were ever done this way for a military piece); with post market grips with a swastika stuck onto it.

If you want to spend $4500 (a hell of a lot of money), research it first, find out why its valuable and find out if it will be valuable in five years.

I have gone to several auctions and there will be a couple of lugers, one buffed bad and reblued, but pretty and a war horse, one that has seen action, but is in reasonable shape.

Value of each

buffed maybe $600
war horse $1000-$1200

What they went for

buffed $1700
war horse $900

The buffed one won't go up in value except as a shooter so maybe a couple of percent a year; the war horse will go up 5-1-% a year in my humble opinion.... Folks like pretty guns and I have seen some fairly knowledge collectors buy something because it was "so" nice, and I am leery of any really nice luger that is over 65 years old....

In short; if you have $4500 to spend, buy some books, read up on it, read here, ask some questions and buy either a documented (i.e. real) piece of history) and still have money to buy several nice lugers for $4500....

It's a standard Luger. Possibly a vet bring back that the vet decided to immortalize by having it chrome or nickel plated and adding the pearl grips. Once it was plated, it lost whatever collector value it may have had.

For a dealer to promote, or even imply, that it comes with a case covered in "human skin", puts him in a catagory that's too dispicable to place on a scale of low life gunshow scum. IMO, he aspires to be swamp slime.

If in fact he believes his own story? He is one dumb Gomer...

In short, if someone tries to sell you a plated Luger as original, or a presentation piece, etc. They don't exist and never did.

Wouldn't we all like to know who this dealer is?....
