sideplate woes

hi got my take down lever sorted out now , hope this is right- pull toggles up and back till they lock , now enter magazine. push reciever rearwards and enter sideplae and rotate take down lever ,except the sideplate [ non original] fits/mates perfectly at grip end ,and top edge at reciever ,everywhere is perfect apart from a 1-2mm gap at bottom edge are , tried without trigger but still same ,can push takedown lever end of plate in v/slighly but nowhere near clearance required to clear by lever , anyone had this before , gonna get the candle smoke out to it .

Hi Alan,

The simple way to do it is:

With the toggle down and in battery. Place the muzzle against a rigid non-marring surface, push firmly.

The receiver will slide back approx.1/4" to 3/8" and stop. Hold it there and install the side plate rear end fist, then pivot the take down lever up into place.

Gently relieve the pressure and let the receiver slide forward.

Everything should be correct. If not, repeat the prodedure.

Ron
