Armorer question
I have seen various things listed as armorer's replacement, etc, and there is a pistol on the for sale section with armorer side plate replacement. Can someone explain how can you tell if the sideplate is an armorer's replacement and in general about these armorer's replacement other items? What the heck was it all about. Thanks.

Some will say an armourer's replacement is an unmarked part from a kit they had at some levels.
I think it would be a hard thing to prove or disprove. I would devalue the piece, myself, though. Hopefully someone can expand on this. |
Armour's kit replacement parts were delivered unnumbered (sometimes numbered by armour, when installed) and usually with some type of code (crown over a letter Imperial acceptance at Erfurt, S42 or 42 at Mauser. Have also seen E/2 KH and E/6 or E/33 Simson unnumbered parts. Then there are also Depot marked replacement parts (eg. E/HZAjt3, etc.) which is a whole other subject. TH
