Don Leverty's Test Target

This is the target I shot today with Don Leverty's Artillery Luger. It really felt odd with a very light recoil and ejection (emptys didnt go very far) It did shoot very well but a little low. Moving the rear sight to the 100 meter position caused the bullets to strike high so I fired this group with the rear sight at it's lowest postion. Thor

Sweet..!! :D

Nice group!!!

As for the "soft" recoil, I'd think an Artillery would want a heavier bullet given the mass of the cannon. I noticed that you were shooting 115gr FMJ.. Betch'a it would be better with a 124gr or handloaded 147gr FMJ..??!!

Probably and this gives more credance to the idea the original loadings were hotter! Thor

Thor: are these shot offhand, off a rest, or off a rest with a shoulder stock? I see groups with a modern pistol shot all the time that are not as good as this shot with a Ransom rest!!

Well Lonnie, I am firing these guns from a seated postion with the Lugers in my hands and with my hands being supported by my knees, the with back against the tire/wheel of my truck. Thor
