1906 American Eagle 9MM...Value??
7 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I posted a few times last year, but do not get on the forums that often. I have a 1906 American Eagle Luger in 9MM. It appears to be all correct and just recently replaced the grip safety spring which the photos were taken before replacing it. (you can see it is depressed because the spring was broken) All good now. Looking to get an idea of its value, not selling yet, but might at some point. I like it but need a better idea of its high-low value on it. Would appreciate any and all opinions. If the photos are not good enough for a ball park high-low let me know and I will try again to get better photos. Thanks, Wayne hiker45acp wayne45acp@comcast.net |
I sold this one a little while ago for $2,995.00. Based on that, I'd say that your gun is worth around $1,995.00, give or take $200.00.

I would say a bit less in that shape, especially in todays market, probably $1300-$1400, if you were lucky.

American Eagle 9MM
Thank you for the information. Being the more difficult one to find (9MM) I plan on hanging on to it for a while, but like most collectibles, I sometimes give one up to aquire another. Thanks again.

Wayne, you and Michael made a good point, sorry i missed the 9mm; I too would add $200 to the price for being 9mm.

I find the horizontal C/N marking on the receiver to be unusal for a M1906. Comments? TH

TH,
I don't know enough about that to actually make a comment. Maybe somone else could help. Thanks for pointing it out though. Wayne |
Sn 53440 is very close to the range where the commercial proof on Lugers changes from c/BUG to c/N lazy; this occurred in 1912. The lazy c/N continues to sn 69000, when model 1906 production ceased in 1913.

Dwight,
I beleive it was you who I had corresponded with a year or so ago and you were able to narrow down the date on this because it was between two KNOWN serial numbers and that this dated at 1911. It would be in my early postings if they still exist. Regards, Wayne |
