"GERMANY" Marking?

The top end of my "new" Luger is an S/42, in nice all matching shape, but the bottom, as previously posted is pretty ratty. Finish on the frame is gone and the surface is uniformly lightly pitted or blasted. The only markings on the frame are the serial (46xx n) and "GERMANY" on the flat just above the take-down lever.
Can anyone provide any info on the frame?

Is it possible to determine the year and maker of my frame? I'm guessing the "GERMANY" indicates it was exported at one time, but I haven't been able to discover the vintage of that marking. Any help appreciated.
