Com'l..??small eagle on bbl, 4", 9mm.. ??
Thoughts on this P08: serialed like a commercial, blank chamber, DWM toggle, 4" barrel, 9mm cal., tiny eagle on barrel, grips #'d to gun....ideas ??
Thanx. |
Sounds like an early 1908 First Issue Military when they were still numbering the small parts in the commercial style. It should have two or three proofs on the left side of the receiver.

Ron...
Reproduction ?? Could it be a rebarrel during early 1930's ?? Early nazi period ? The eagle is a small sylized stick type. Has a stock lug. Lokks like a 1914 com'l but chamber proof is vertical. loogee. |
not enough information to give a good estimate. Pictures of these markings are needed.
Kinda like asking for a certain color on your new car, but can't see the color chart..... ed |
loogee,
Forget about the "reproduction" part, it is my "signature" and is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek joke. Your more precise description would make your Luger more likely a 1920 Commercial that, as you suspect, has been rebarreled. We need to be able to see the "color chart" as Ed puts it. Full serial number and photos may help pin it down. |
Ron....Got me with the repro remark..
Will attempt to get some picts posted......thanx guys. |
