What I have left over......

Several months ago I bought a batch of Luger parts off of Gunbroker to attempt assembling a complete gun. A fellow board member installed the only good barrel and headspaced it, I got new grips off ebay, a spring kit from Wolf, and a few other small pins and parts from Numrich and finally have a firing Luger. No numbers match and there are no numbers on the take down lever, sideplate, extractor, and toggle link. The lower is quite badly pitted as is the side plate but the upper is in fair shape. It fires but jams quite a bit. I think a little more polishing of the inner rails and toggle train will help with that. Once it functions fairly well I am going to attempt bluing it myself.
The upper is a 1920/1917 #6594, the barrel is #3719-a, and the lower is ??566, the safety is marked "RUST" in the firing position.
If anyone is interested in the left overs let me know and I will take better pictures of them. The barrels are all rough inside and two have the collars ruined. The disconnector pin is stuck in one of the sear bars. One sideplate appears to be a repro and not numbered.

looks like you did okay!

I sent a PM on assorted parts, have items to trade?

but mainly wanted to say, well done, it is tricky putting all together and getting them working!

Hi,

The frame is a Dutch frame and it was a 1906 model which had a grip safety installed originally. Since it now is converted to a non-grip safety version, the word 'Rust' (or 'Safe') appears in the wrong position :)

Nice project! Hope you manage to get the gun going as it should.
Keep the ejectors and the smaller springs as spare parts. The ejector is the number one breaking part and it's never bad to be without a few spares.

Great project! Recycling is good for the environment. ;) :D
So what is your total cost of the FrankenLuger so far?

Wow! Nice job and feel free to let me know if you have any inclination to sell any of those parts, especially the barrels.

D, I'd be interested in your spare original side plates and takedown levers. If for sale separately, please forward close up photos and prices to me at hellerarms@webtv.net Also have parts to trade or can do a "tune-up" on your Franken Luger if desired. Lugerdoc

PS: I'm still trying to figure out how to send a PM under the new format. I hope that I did this correctly. I'm interested in some of your parts. Lugerdoc

More than it's worth, probably @ $750, but it was an interesting and fun project for a non-gunsmith DIY'er. But, if I can sell the left over parts that should bring it down a couple hundred.
