Help identifying a 1938

Hi guys,

I just "inherited" a Luger from my mom. Apparently her brother gave it to her way back in the day, and it's just been lying in a drawer for the last 40 years or so.

It would be fun if someone could help me identify it, and maybe tell me some more about it and where it came from.

Here are some pictures I snapped. Let me know if you need different angels.
The pictures are huge, but I figured the detail might be helpful.

Espen, welcome to the forum. 2 things;

1. please host pictures HERE
2. You may host larger picture elsewhere, but smaller pictures here keeps them when the owner decides to delete them later (and it happens all the time, even when folks say, I'll leave them forever).

Also, give us a written description, some folks are on dial up and your huge pictures are simply too large. So, serial number, suffix, toggle marking, etc.

Looking quick, you have a Mauser made (S/42 is the code) luger made in 1938.....

Hi Edward, and thank you.

I'll resize the pictures and host them with you instead, sorry about that.
