magazine repair

Has anyone had any luck gluing or repairing the wooden base on luger mags . I have a broken one and tried to glue it using a very good wood glue PVA ,and giving it plenty of time to set , but it let go again as soon as I loaded the mag !

Its a nice original old mag and I would like to keep it servicable .

Only other solution I can think of is to replace it with and alloy base , are they available ?

New Wood bases are available, manufactured by GT. I believe you can purchase them from Lugerdoc (Tom Heller) here on the forum.

To repair the old one you may need to insert a dowel pin

RG, I do have GT's perfect unmarked new wood mag bottoms in stock @$35, or some vg originals at the same price. Also have unmarked aluminum mag bottoms available for shooter mags @$20 each. hellerarms@webtv.net

If you want to fix the old wood base I suggest you use a good epoxy made for wood. It will be much stronger than PVA and will not break apart again.
