I blame you Now with PICS
Today I aquired another DWM pistol. I blame you because I had no interest in Artillery units until I started cruising this forum.
It is a 1917 DWM all matching except magazine which is a WWII aluminum unit. http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/716/p9040072sj9.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4998/p9040073gl4.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3608/p9040074gh3.jpg I'm sure Aaron can hook me up with the proper magazine, or the WTT function should come in handy for that. It has some unfortunate pitting on the exterior. Darn moisture! http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/2402/p9040075az8.jpg http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/7262/p9040077zt2.jpg Internals are pristine, as is the bore! It does not appear to have been refinished, as the pits are not blued, and nothing has been polished in the least. Straw remains on some parts. Grips are old, most likely original, unnumbered and possibly recheckered. Price was $1000 even. |
Nice catch... Welcome to the Lugerforum! We look forward to your photos.

welcome, I don't mind being "blamed" for lugeritis :D

Once you visit this website you are a carrier even if you don't contract the disease yourself :roflmao:

Nice gun, I think you did good! $1000, geeeeee I never get such deals :)
May I ask a question about the side plate? It looks like it was repaired, I would be very interested in seeing closeups as it looks nicely done. Vern |
Vern,
No repair, but I'll snap some PICS tomorrow in the sunlight just in case you see something I am missing. It could happen for sure with my very limited knowledge of Lugers. Thanks again to all of you here for your vast knowledge of these pistols, and more importantly, your willingness to share. Darin |
