What's this 1906 AE Luger worth?
All the exterior numbers match. It's a 9mm with a 4" bbl. I sure don't have to worry about it being re-blued. What, in your opinions, would be a fair price to pay for this Luger on today's market? The bore is advertised as fair but "could clean up to good". Supposedly there is a chip out of one of the grips but I couldn't spot it. You guys must think I'm nuts for even looking at it. What would be an honest price to pay?

A 9mm 1906 is rarer than a 7.65mm (30 luger), so worth more than a shooter.
the chip is huge isn't it, look left grip, upper right, it is just such a clean break it looks okay. If I had it and was trying to sell it on the forum, I'd sell it at about $1000-$1300, depending on if any other parts are matching etc. Possibly more if it 'cleaned up well...' Ed |
Nice project gun.
Will need some TLC, though. The grip safety spring is probably also broken. The grip safety rests too far inwards. |
I have the new grip safety springs and any other parts you may need. TH

An alternative.... if not many people fighting for it, it could be cheap:

Yes. He said it's refurbished in the description. So, it's an honest gun. Actually, he only sells restored guns. Restoration is his job. If it goes too high, I suggest skipping it and waiting for the next one.
