What's this 1906 AE Luger worth?

All the exterior numbers match. It's a 9mm with a 4" bbl. I sure don't have to worry about it being re-blued. What, in your opinions, would be a fair price to pay for this Luger on today's market? The bore is advertised as fair but "could clean up to good". Supposedly there is a chip out of one of the grips but I couldn't spot it. You guys must think I'm nuts for even looking at it. What would be an honest price to pay?

Thanks for your input.

A 9mm 1906 is rarer than a 7.65mm (30 luger), so worth more than a shooter.

the chip is huge isn't it, look left grip, upper right, it is just such a clean break it looks okay.

If I had it and was trying to sell it on the forum, I'd sell it at about $1000-$1300, depending on if any other parts are matching etc. Possibly more if it 'cleaned up well...'

Nice project gun.

Will need some TLC, though. The grip safety spring is probably also broken. The grip safety rests too far inwards.

I have the new grip safety springs and any other parts you may need. TH

An alternative.... if not many people fighting for it, it could be cheap:

I'm guessing the bidding will become hot and heavy towards the end. My un-informed take on that Luger is it's a very nice lightly buffed reblue although that's never stated. It will probably fetch between $1000 to $1200 as a shooter. Am I really off base on that stab and the reblueing?

Yes. He said it's refurbished in the description. So, it's an honest gun. Actually, he only sells restored guns. Restoration is his job. If it goes too high, I suggest skipping it and waiting for the next one.
