Alvin,
Sorry to be so late posting this, but I missed your request for a photo.
This is a photo of the back of the bolt on the 1920s commercial luger that I had posted questions on earlier in this forum. The number on the bolt appears to be either 55 or 56.
If you need more, please let me know. barr

Thanks! It looks like 56 to me. Here is mine, 98 on bolt (s/n 1323n)..... it must be batch or assembly number type of thing.

I agree that the number refered to is NOT a serial number. TH

The peening taking place on the back of the firing pin retainer indicates that either the recoil spring is too weak, or the ammo is way TOO HOT. It is pounding on the rear of the frame... a recipe for disaster.

A little good news... shooting stops here. I cannot undo what previous owners have done, but I can control myself.
