Ivan:

P08 made by DWM for the german army, delivered in 1917. Reblued somewhere along the way between 1917 and 2008.

iiik.. active rust on a nice pistol!
Please spend some oil and elbow grease on it

BTW, compliments to you on the exceptional photography. Please share some details about your equipment. Those are some very nice shots indeed.

I know you are not aiming your question to me.. but as a photo-nut, perhaps I can add something usefull.
-The cheapest way: Find a good pocket camera, like the canon G9 with 'super macro'. Take the picture in plenty of light with a gray (preferable not white) background without flash. If possible, use a tripod and use a small aperture (high F-number) to make all parts of the gun clear. -The more expencive way: Get a DSL camera, read about the basics of photography and get a macro lens and a flash ring. If you are doing it all the time, build a 'white box' setup out of a cardboard box.. it can be a fun hobby, but drains the Luger budget;)

The bluing looks thin from age but the gun doesn't appear to be buffed ...if at all. Can you send up another shot of the trigger area? the trigger should not be blued but I can't tell if it's just dark with age. Some strawing should be showing if it hasn't been redone.
GvV, what tips you off to the rebluing? The dark trigger or something else?
