Post War grips survey

I would like to compile a thread of post war grips?

Anyone want to send me photos of their grips, and I'll post a compilation and ask everyones opinion, East German or Rusian?

Here are two pictures of extra grips that I received when I bought my BYF 1942 about 10 years ago. They have no markings but work quit well on the gun. I have no idea were or when they were made. Hope this helps.

Freshly in from our Oberndorf trip.

These are unfinished grips for the pre-1973 Mauser Parabellum with the Swiss frame type.

The small drill holes had little brass pins glued into them, these pins would lock behind the frame.

Nobody got any of them plexiglass ones with nudie pitchers?

Lots of Stag grips were seen in the 50s as well.

I have a byf 1942 with bakelite grips but i would like to install wooden grips.Any idea where i could get these. Thanks,

reich1900 11-30-2008 08:27 PM

You could check ebay, they seem to have some grips posted most of the time. The late war byf 42s did come with black bakelite or like mine wooden grips. My grips are # too the gun.
