Info On Stoeger Luger
 

Here is the info I gathered on the Luger for sale at Cabela's. They are advertising it as an 1920/23 American Eagle. Serial number is 218n, all parts I could see were matching, including wood bottomed clip numbered 218n. Unmarked safety bar, but I forgot to see if it was marked Safe or Gesichert on the frame. It has "AF Stoeger, Inc New York," on the side of the frame but no "GERMANY" behind that. There is no eagle over the chamber and no "Original Patent..." on the frame. It does have a stock lug. Finish looks to be original 95% (I looked at it through a magnifying glass), some wear on the front and back of the grip and what looks like slight holster wear on other high areas. Strawed small parts are 95%. Bore is like new as are wood grips. It has a small "N" on the barrel. Barrel length of 3 5/8 inches, marked 218n. What do you guys think? Roscoe

What a nice picture of a fine patriotic Luger. Any Luger that is proudly displaying the seal of the United States is alright in my book (stainless or not).

I've seen it, and $2400.00 is too much for this gun. They have had it for over six months. If it was a steal then Midwest in Minneapolis would have bought it by now. just my thoughts!

It was actually $2695 they want for it. Maybe I should offer them $2000?

Don't worry about getting it for less than $2400.00, they are tough at Cabella's and have more money than they know what to do with and don't seem to care if they sell anything.(they don't have to) Midwest is a Gun Dealer in Prior Lake, Minn. I would recommend checking Ken Kontos out first, he usually has something that would come close to what you want. Has anyone else bought anything from him? Interested to hear how the deal went.

My experience has also been horrible. Just fishing for some corrorborating info. STICK WITH SHATTUCK, SIMPSON, AND HELLER...................

I buy from Ralph and I have always eneded the sale a happy customer, that's why I am a return customer. I have a very minty 41 date/42 code Mauser I bought from RES that is not that easy to come by! I ljust ove that Luger. Ted

Yea, Ralph is truly one in a million! He is never boastfull and I don't think he would ever take advantage of anyone. My vote is for Ralph, leave the rif raf behind! I have also had very good luck in my dealings with Simpson and look forward to a possible (Hope, Hope) purchase from Tom H.!!!!
