Still's site down?
 

Anybody else having trouble accessing it?

It's been down for awhile now.

I'm hoping it hasn't been hacked again..

The experts are looking into it.

Why does that site seem to attract the hackers ?

I am one of the "white hat" guys in the field of computer security... once the hackers discover a particular vulnerability in a system configuration type... such as the the web hosting software that Jan's site may be using, then they spend their time searching out other sites that use the same or similar configuration to see what mayhem they can cause for the notoriety...

They are vandals and terrorists... nothing less... if we could make the Patriot Act apply to them... we might be able to put the fear of God into them and drastically reduce the destruction they leave in their path...

Jan, Sorry that they appear to have hit your forum again... perhaps in the future you should consider making an announcement here in our announcement forum when things like this happen, and then make a followup announcement when things have been restored so your folks know they can get back on line on your site... it would cut down on some of the speculation...

In the meantime, I hope ALL your members know they are welcome here as well.

Being in Alaska, one hour behind the West Coast, I am often behind the other members in logging on to the site and find out about problems later than others. I will try to be quicker in the future.

Tuco fixed the site in short time. I opened it to find a pornorgraphic add and immediatley locked the member out and deleted the add. It has been up and running now for some time.

Thanks for the update Jan... I hope you can keep the "black hats" out... This forum has been experiencing multiple attempts by hackers to post porn as well. So far, they have been unsuccessful.

Some porn would liven the site up a bit :D but then some of us old folk might have a heart attack.

I hope you are really just jokin charlie... that will never happen as long as I am associated with this website. We have standards, and I will enforce them as long as I am blessed with the responsibility of keeping that sleeze out of here...

This web site is supposed to be G-rated... I don't want anyone who wants to explain his Luger hobby to his grandchildren to ever have to cover their eyes... or explain things that they never should have been exposed to...

there are plenty of gun related sites where that kind of stuff takes place... this isn't going to be one of them.

But I want all the members to know that keeping porn off this forum is a daily chore, that none of us likes... it is no joking matter.
