So Called "Black Widow" Bakelite Grips.

All of you who own a shooter grade Luger with these type grips on it had better call for an armed guard to watch over you while you carefully remove those grips and place them in a gun safe for secure storage of a delicate antique...

Yesterday, the highest price I have ever seen paid for a set of these original grips that were not attached to a functional Luger reached $465.00 USD on ebay...

Their collector value has been steadily climbing over the last two years... but I believe we have reached a level not seen since the last time the Brooklyn Bridge was sold... They are nearly worth their weight in gold.

I suggest you all remove them now and put them in safe storage to ensure that you will have all of your children's college education paid for!

That's simply amazing!! In that case I have several pair of BW grips that I'm willing to sell for $500 a pop! Just kidding. :D

That's really unbelievable!

And when I was a kid I would throw the black and brown "plastic" grips away and replace them with walnut grips. I thought the plastic grips rather garish and cheap.

The seller of the grips sent me the original photos... since they are "historic" for their price, I thought I would post them here.

They came off of a Russian Capture 42-byf Luger... for you newbies... the crude "X" mark over the chamber in this case is an indication of Russian captivity for the gun. The X may appear in various places, but usually near the serial number or in obvious view.

I have a pair just like them that also came with a Russian Capture. It's a matching 1940/42.
I didn't give that much for the whole gun!
