Trigger stop
I have a 9mm shooter Luger. I also have a copy of the May 1974 Shooting Times article on tuning the Luger trigger. I've done the 1st part and removed about .015 from the firing pin. Made a world of difference.
The second part of the article describes installing 2 set screws, one for a trigger stop and one for slack adjustment. Can someone explain to me what the purpose of the screws are? Is trigger overtravel that bad? And slack? My purpose for this gun is target shooting. I still have some work to do on the sights and would like to add a thumb rest to aftermarket grips. |
For fine target shooting, the answer is yes...the slack and overtravel could stand to be improved. It gives a much more predictable trigger pull, so you know the point at which the gun will fire. You can concentrate on the sight picture and don't have to think about whether you have taken up all the slack or not.

Thanks Ron. I have a 1920 Commercial trigger that I will use.
