Luger of Artillery accuracy
Which is the Luger of Artillery accuracy?
 Best regards |
..I'm also confused.. do you mean "how is the artillery Lugers accuracy?" An artillery Luger, also known as LP 08, have a longer barrel and where often fired with a stock, wich made it more accurate.
oh, almost forgot; Welcome rleitz2000 :) |
Accuracy, with stock, is basically excellent!
I have no problems hitting a small rifle target at 50 meters, others have tested ranges of 100 - 300 yards without much effort. This also supports the original manual, which also states that ranges of 300 meters are no problem, and that even at a distance of 600 meters you may expect to hit a man sized target. The 9mm parabellum round, fired from a luger, maintains a lethal capability for well over 1000 meters, make it some 1200 at least for the LP08, although anything you hit at distances of over 600 meters attributes more to luck than to good shooting. Drawbacks of the LP08 design: -Distance between front and rear sight is actually shorter than on a P08. -Construction of rear sight facilitates movement of the sight during recoil. -It's hard to stick it in your pants. -Gun with stock, but without holster added to stock kicks like a mule. So basically: -Find a way to fasten the rear sight for shooting (my favorite: tie wrap). -Add a holster to the stock (aftermarket will do the trick, no need to damage an original one). |
THANKS FOR THE ANSWERS.
Is the Luger of Artillery accuracy without stock at 25yds. groups of 3",2",1"or less? |
Hi,
Any luger should be capable of 1" groups (and better) at 25 yards. They were sighted in and test fired at 50 meters. Much depends on the state of the gun and the shooter's capabilities, of course. My eyesight does no longer support 1" groups, but the guns certainly do :) |
