Radom "P.35(p)"
It's been quite a few years since I've owned one of these . I stumbled onto what I think is called a Type 1 ? B prefix serial with stock slot . My question is , "were all P.35 recoil springs captured on the guide rods" ? This one is not . I'm thinking the 2 I owned long ago were captured springs .
Thank you . |
Mitch, IMHO all Radoms had the captured recoil spring assy, with a 2nd spring within the guide. TH

Thanks Tom .
I suspicioned as much . Several years ago you sold me some replacement fp springs for my custom Baby P.08 . Any chance you might be the "P.35(p)" Doc as well ? :) The rod looks ok . Maybe a retaining clip or washer missing from the muzzle end ?? |
Thanks for your help Tom . Part fit fine . Pistol now functions 100%

Thanks Mitch. Since weak or broken recoil springs seem to be a problem with the Radom (I've repaired a lot of them over the years), I had a dozen new assemblies manufactured a few years ago and still have a few left @$100 each postpaid. hellerarms@webtv.net

Hi sorry to bring up such an old topic but is there any chance you have any more of these springs or know where I could get a set.
Thanks |
jws, I do have a few new ones left in stock, but price is now $125 each + $6 S&H. Tom

I'm not on the payroll ;) , but I have to add that these spring assemblies work 100% . Most likely constructed better than the originals .

Radom Story
Be careful with the recoil assembly. I'll tell you a funny story (not funny at the time)...
A couple of years ago, I picked up a VIS35. I did a detail clean, down to taking apart the recoil guide assembly. I was working in an area that was unusually high in clutter (half open boxes, papers, tools). When reassembling the recoil guide, I compressed the guide and lost my grip on it... launching the rear section (part# 11) across the room. I heard the piece hit the window pane. No problem... must be somewhere near the bottom of the window (you know, gravity). Found the small, captive spring right away... but the much larger rear section is GONE! Searched the boxes under the window. Where could it have slipped? Searched in an ever increasing arc away from the window. How far could it have bounced? After about 1 hour and much profanity, I finally found it. It hit the window and dropped directly into the cup of the thumb-turn window lock (neatly camouflaged in color I add). It probably would have hurt if it hit me in the eye. That's when I got the bright idea to use a vise to neatly and securely compress the assembly while inserting the pin (part# 7). Worked like a charm. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...recassmbly.jpg Jack |
Thanks... I have emailed you and thanks to lawman for posting the exploded view.
I haven't had this very long and would like the chance to shoot it. Very interesting pistol. |
Another question. Do you have any recomendations on magazines for the Radom ... The original with it is in questionable shape.
