New to me BYF ??? Pictures Added
 

Hi guys! New to the forum and have a couple of questions. I will appreciate any help. I just got this P08 from a friend and I'm not sure about the grips. It's a BYF 41, all matching serial numbers 14XX with what looks like a backward Q below the serial number on the front of the trigger guard. The serial number on the mag also matches and the base is aluminum. The pistol is in 90-95% condition with no rust or pitting and just a few small dings. Very little wear, all of the sharp edges are still blued. The grips appear to be brown bakelite and have what looks like a target? symbol on the top end. Are these the correct grips for this model and does anyone have an idea of the value of this pistol? TIA for any info!!:)

Hi Paul,

From the description of the grips. It sounds like you have a VOPO. A luger captured by the Russians and issued to the East German police. Without some photos it is very hard to give an assessment. A VOPO in good condition will sell for around $800-$1000.
