It's a nice one Nikola! I had MP40 as military sidearm back in the 70s, great fun to shoot with!
Found it to be more controllable in full auto than the MP5

Is it difficult to get a licence for it in Croatia?

@Steinar: interesting. I never realized that the MP40 also survived in Norwegian service. Makes sense, though.

Nice gun to shoot, if you shoot it take care because it lifts up on full auto.

I have fired at least a thousand rounds in an MP 40 and I have to disagree. The weapon is rock steady and has no apparent upward lift on full auto. I have even fired it using the sights at over a hundred yards and it is devastatingly accurate. The weapon is quite heavy, slow fireing with a short round. It simply does not climb or if it does it is not noticeable to me.

I sure am in accord with Jerry . I have had a couple of these over the years and fired others. I must have shot 10,000 rounds at least over the years . I find the gun goes no where but where you point it. Sometimes feels like your shooting some type or recoilless rifle. It just does not really move. And like Jerry says you hit what you shoot at. To me the sexist sweetest SMG ever made. Sure wish i still had one. Damn what a toy.

Gerben; yes, the last ones where phased out in the late 80's. It was 'low priority' medical/transport divisions that kept them longest. Guess most of them are now paper weights like this one;

Maybe I should have explained myself more clearly, what I am was trying to advice was to be careful when to shoot the MP40 because if you do not hold it as it should be it will rise while shooting. That it shoots straight and accurate I agree because when I shoot mine that what it does.:)

Hi steiner what is the going price on that auction in U.S. dollars and how are they deacted.
From the auction photo it looks like the receiver uncut. Can you buy these there like this.

Richie: let's see.. there is a 'buy now' price at equals $2085 and the current bid is $1517. A quick Google search found this site selling them for
$1327. Most likely the receiver is intact, but the barrel is plugged and the breechblock is cut in an angle so that it can't chamber a round. Two non-restricted parts in the US and many other countries, but over here we need a licence to import a barrel. (That's probably the reason why this is sold 'within Norway only'). It's a damn expencive paperweight if you ask me..

I currently own an MP-40, one of several I have owned over the years. I find it to be quite accurate and amazingly simple to operate and maintain. Mine is a fxo (Haenel) with a secondary code of cos, indicating most likely subcontracted assembly of Haenel parts by Gebruder Mertz.

It is my favorite subgun of the seven I own and shoot.

Great looking weapon! Back in 1965 I bought an MP-40 for $50.00 and let it get away from me. I'm still kicking myself.
