Can anyone ID this magazine?
I picked up this magazine at a local gun show this weekend. I have searched every book I own and cannot find a stick eagle proof with a circle"X" "C" underneath. Please note also the three different numbers stamped on the base. There are several examples of a stick eagle C with a swastika, but this one has a "X" in place of the swastika. Any opinions or answers will be appreciated.

Police mag #2, second mag of the gun, 616 must be weapon number carried over from a matching grip mark of a police dept. and rare E/C police proof....

Mike, Howard is correct. The X is not an X but a swastica with little detail. A lazy die maker perhaps.
There were Eagle K-F-C&L. I have yet to discover what exactly these letter designations stand for dispite discussions on this and other Boards. I have a beautiful loading tool with the Eagle F, it is fun just to look at such a rare thing. Eagle L seems to be the most common. Jerry Burney |
Mike, The center pinned (with round headed pin) is the very last (circa 1944) type of WW2 Police mag made for the luger. The E/C appears spurious to me. TH
