Halo effect

Ok took Jonny Peppers advise and looked at my 1900 AE top pic. halo plain to see. Then the 1906 AE in question, can make it out if you look hard. Then finally a 1923 commercial, not present at all. But could be hidden in the rough milling lines.

Re: Halo effect

Great pictures! May I ask what kind of camera you used? How did you set it up? I am thinking about buying a camera and have been studying stuff that I have seen on the forum.

Camera choice

I have an old Sony digital mavica. By far one of the best for the money. I use an old fluorescent desk lamp for lighting and tweak the pics afterwards. I try to use dark blue backgrounds as much as possible. It doesn't make the blue look funny. I think the hard part is to combat glare. It also helps to take many pics and then decide on one good one. Also remember that pictures darken when you download them onto the net. I do not know why they just do. Hope this helps.

[OT] Camera choices and comparisons

I use a Kodak DC4800 and I am very pleased with the output...

Here is a good site to visit to see the capabilities of virtually all available digital cameras.

This is their "Comparometer" that can show you the same photo taken by two different cameras so you can see the image quality...
