Anyone tried an ultrasonic cleaner?

I have recently read several posting on other sites for newer guns singing the praises of ultrasonic cleaners. Has anyone tried one of these on a luger? Would using one damage the bluing or straw? They sound like a good way to get all the gunk out of the nooks and cranies. The prices on the units seems to have come down to a reasonable level. Anyone have any experience?

I have one in the Department armory....works great and does not damage the straw or bluing. We use "simple green" as a cleaning agent a good rinse, blow dry and re-oil

... and they work wonders on automobile engine parts too! :D

I wouldn't hesitate to use one any of my firearms. But make sure you follow Jim's directions to blow dry, and re-oil before reassembly. No grips either wood or man-made materials in the tank please!

An additional caution--do not put your hands or fingers in the tank while the ultrasonics are operating. Very bad for deep tissues.
